We picked up our eclipse blue altea yesterday and we received first rate service from Graham at Sidlow. I would recommend anyone to give Sidlow a try.

Sidlow and graham where very professional throughout the whole buying procedure, which took us about two weeks to complete what with arranging finance and insurance etc. Graham kept in contact via email and was thoroughlly helpful.

glad you were looked after mate. but i found them difficult re servicing/repair. perhaps its due to my vehicle being modified. but anything non standard and they refused to look at it. but anything they did do they did well.
there was a past member of staff who was particulary rude to me, but on the flip side john in parts is very helpful.

glad they got it right with you.. but they dont always.

ive learned that owning a modified car means a specialist garage.

hope they continue getting it right

I bought a new Leon Cupra R from them in March 2005.
They were very friendly and helpful.......until i started having problems with the car.
The car was pulling to the left and I returned it after just a few weeks of collecting it......they had it back for 4 weeks (even though it was in their car park for the first 12 days).
I then picked it back up but returned it just hours later with the same fayult, they then told me it was something completely different wrong with it....after picking it for the third time (still not right) i found damage on the drivers door, this was reported but never rectified.
In my experience i would NEVER use them again and regret buying a Seat due to my experience's with them.

Shame about your bad experiences fella. I'm in the process of buying my third car from them (LCR, Leon FR TDi and MK3 Ibiza Cupra) and never had any problems. Had to send the FR back as the front discs were warped and the CD player wasn't working, but all were changed FOC and with no fuss at all.

Good to hear you have had no fuss with them, I admit bad experiences can be had by anyone, anywhere.....it's just that even after complaining to Seat themselves the problems were not resolved!
Good luck with your new car and happy motoring.

Hey all

Can I just say thanks to Paul for his comments.

We have in the last year or so had quite a few big staff changes including both the sales and aftersales managers and we are working really hard to resolve the issues which we know were there and things are coming good.

All I can say to people who have had a bad experience in the past, is give us a try now. Can't promise we're perfect (nobody is), but we'll do our best!

Thanks

Id like to say Sidlow in Gatwick are the WORST SEAT dealer I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

They sold me a ex demo Ibiza which had the following problems;

* Split turbo pipe resulting in loss of power

* Rear boot door not fitted well at all. Rattle rattle

* Electrics on dash faulty - kept turning on and off

* Failed Alternator within 30 miles of the garage. (which failed AGAIN 10 weeks later whist in Ireland)

* Had the nerve to refuse giving my Leon back after I said they could keep the difference.

How on earth did they not stop those problems if it was ex demo ?! Took them 4 go's to get the car right and would love to know (this was never explained) why these faults were missed.

I sold the car on and went back to my normal dealer, wrote a very stong letter to SEAT about their poor service. I felt gutted as I loved my Cupra very much when I p/x'd it for the 1.9 TDi SE model. I thought I was going to be pain free for a while with low bills and all I got was a pain in the arse.

Avoid this dealer at all costs - bunch of crooks.

with that sig mate are you sure your not a dealer? ;)

sorry youve had problems. i thought it was only modified seats they had issues with.

very poor to sell an ex demo car with those issues!

glad im away from warranties and dealerships and although i have to pay, the specialist garages seem to get things right more often than not first time.

good luck mate

Glad to read a message of this sort 'statto', was fed up with people sticking up for Sidlow's, and yes.......a bunch of crooks indeed........if they knew anything about cars they'd be able to sell and repair them properly.
Have just sold my Cupra R i bought from them 2 years ago, even after all this time it still was'nt quite right.......good riddence to Seat i say !!!

final analysis is when you spend the dollars whos not gonna be nice to you. even i'll be nice to you.

after sales service when things go wrong is a true test of time. proven and proven.

dont be fooled buy the nice smiles when you spend the dosh followed by grins when things go tits-up.

I wouldn't touch this dealer with a bargepole if I were you. They can't even remember to put your dipstick back in during a service. :censored:
