Some progress on my car...leathers etc

So ive been working on my car a bit now, as its been off the road for about a month, im just putting a few new bits in the engine and changing the gaskets etc etc. Should be all back together this week...anyway heres a few other things that have gone in or are going in....

VR6 Grey leathers.

almost finished smoothing the front bumper, still a few waves to sand out etc..

new lights (standard ones) and grille, going to be using the one above not the meshed one...also the fk grille below the pic wil be going on.

and also whilst all the engines apart i painted the rocker...

whatcha think....should be al ready for the show season!

wish i wouldve had my front bumper smoothed now, gona look sweet.

Did the vr seats drop strait in?

VR6 front sit straight in...you have to wiggle the seat belt bit up and down a bit..the backs...have slight little lips that stick out..just need to cut them bits off and your away.. i have the door cards..not sure if theyl fit but theyre pretty tacky and i dont want em. Get some creams aswell Jenk would look sweet at gti international!

I want mine the same colour as the roof lining so what youve got there seems dam close. looks like abit of hunting is going to take place.

Shes only just come outa the bodyshop so im not gona mess about with it just yet, sayin that its goin back into friday to get the boot redone and to be moped so....

Seing what youve done makes me think i need to pull my finger out abit.

Money is my enemy, coilovers are next on the long list.
Rims will have to wait. for now i mite paint my 20vt rims dark and get the lip diamond cut. should look half decent.

Get on ebay.de and find yourself some rims.... or get some nice cheap old skool rims and have them polished... porcsche rims or somin....have a gander... thought you already had coilovers, get some nice cheap and cheerful fks, im sure in golf+ or pvw i saw some for like £275 which are just ride heigh adjustable.

Quick question..... the plastic cover on the rocker cover on the left hand side... how did you get it off ? I removed the 2 screws and tried pulling up but after putting a fair bit of force on I didn't want to kill the rubber..... what technique did you use ? (I know you're gonna say yank it now lol).

did you sand blast the top cover? think on my gti its going black... cos ive got some black high temp paint left over from my brake drums.
oh and how much did you pay for the seats

ACH you got it....its rubber so just wiggle it back and forth rather than just pulling it off....there may have been a third bolt behind it....probably not tho i dont remember,,,just wiggle it lots.

ibiza 95, payed just under 400 for them on ebay but the door cards are a state (not using them though) and theres some wear on the drivers seat, will have to get that sorted. Didnt sand blast it i used my little polishing kit..sanded it all down until it was bare metal....then buffed the metal up with the polisher..then wet and dried it..then painted it. didnt use brake paint used hammerite spray can.

....and yeah wipe clean leather is always good...greys a good colour aswell when the police come lookin for evidence....."what? i dont know anything about the neighbours dog being pregnant....."

theyre no leather re trims..theyre taken from a vr6 golf. Numberplate im thinkin....no numberplate, but if i gets in troubles then ill shuv it in the windscreen...or maybe below the bumper where the splitter is.

il put some finished updates on at the weekend!
