sometimes will not start

Hi guys ,We have a 1.4 s every now and then it refuses to start doesnt seem to matter if it hot or cold , it turns over but doesnt quite start , bump starts fine then will start on the key every time ....
I have changed the fuel filter but still the same . any ideas would be appreciated ,

I would check the coil pack and ht leads and make sure you have a good earth, also this sounds like its a mk2 not a mk1 and is VW based, mk1's are years 83-92 and look like mk1/mk2 golfs so you may want to move the thread to the mk2 section.

We have an 06 150 and it will not start. Checked the battery and changed the starter cyl. Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it?
