Yup i will measure and cut and then edit the final design :) already knew that before but i wanted to measure it in real life before incorporating it into the design

How does the material stand up to weathering? I know you say they are as strong but will they get brittle or discolour are all?

Hey mate the material stands up to weather just fine. The prototype material not as that is just PLA. But you use it for prototyping because its cheap and easy to modify.

The production material is PET based plastic but its a hybrid material that also has carbon fiber/composite in. The material maintains 100% rigidity and structural integrity till 120 degrees C. Internal engine bay temps dont even get that high.

The color doesn't fade either as it's resilient against UV etc.

I've done a ton of research and testing with different materials and for this specific part, this is the best material for the job without making the cost of manufacturing skyrocket.

Other parts might be other materials as it depends on what properties each part needs to have. For example a silicone hose needs to be flexible and heat resistant. A grill needs to be weather resistant and strong.

Hi mate sorry if that came across as if I was trying to put down the product - it wasn’t meant that way.
I’ve not had much dealing with ALM process so always like to check the basics and by your answers I can see this is a highly thought through design.

I’m looking forward to seeing costs and getting a set on order.

Hi there,
I have a 3d printer and was thinking of designing some new speaker grills..... If you have an stl file for them, id be eternally grateful.

What I would also like to do is make a Leon Cupra body for my RC monster truck.... if you have a cad file of the whole car that would be awesome..?
If your palm needs crossing, I understand, or maybe you just need some more filament! ;)

Look forward to chatting folks.

Hey mate, no offense taken at all! No worries you have a right to ask questions. As it is an important question. I want to answer all questions thoroughly and with detail. :)

This really is my passion and it's just the beginning for me, as soon as im done with my automotive mechatronics engineering degree here in Germany I'll be stepping up to designing full on performance parts such as intake manifolds turbos exhausts intakes etc. This year are just the babysteps with what i can do to get the company rolling for the future.

Any update on this? Still really keen for a whole new set of top sport grille plastics to paint and replace the current with.

Hey bud actually yes, the first grill is printing now for a guy here on the forum, he will test fit it this week and if all fits then production starts.

Also worked on some custom badging for the Grill. Heres the first one its the new cupra logo, just needs to be smoothed out.

Also have R badges and Cupra R badges etc.

Hopefully the last prototype! Will be fitted asap and then if all is well the design will go into production.

That's really impressive. Lot of hard work and many hours behind CAD program.

Well Done. Hope to see his "sisters" - the side grills - to make a all winner product.

Regards.
