I've had mine mapped for a year now and not had any issues. If you get it done somewhere reliable that knows what they are doing, it should be fine. But as with anything I guess it depends on your driving style. If you leave a mm of rubber behind at every set of lights then things are going to wear out quicker, but thats true if its mapped or not.
I was going to upgrade my clutch, but in the end am waiting for the OEM one to wear out. I figured a map increases the potential power. But how often do I actually apply 340lbs of torque to the car?
