Great mods there on the TT.

Defo going in the right direction. Pipes look sweet, how does she perform with the exhaust and induction upgrades?

great job so far, and a clean motor. im going to look at a 225 on sunday and cant wait. where abouts did you get the exhaust from as theres going to be one on my list?

Thank you. I got the Milltek from a local place, but there are loads of dealers around the country. Just look on Milltek's website.

Thanks a lot! The car certainly feels a lot more responsive now, its always hard to tell whether there is an actual difference though. I just wish I'd done some logging before any of the modifications.

Wheels are prepped and are off to the paint shop to be done in silver.

And spot the two changes:

The TT is sitting back on the standard wheels now However, I got it mapped by a local tuner with the following result:

This is purely from MAF figures so not accurate, but it's due to be put on the Dyno to have the map tweaked next week after I've uprated some hoses etc. etc. so im hoping for around 260-265 bhp. However irrespective of figures it feels great to drive, boosts early and strong throughout the rev range.

Also my clutch pedal broke for the SECOND time!, I can't believe how poor a design that part is!

I removed my N249 this week and did some logging. I was really pleased with how the cam cover looked with it gone and solving the jerking issue on part throttle, however from the logs it seems the DV response is actually poorer with the N249 removed, taking an extra second or so for boost to settle to requested on closing the throttle. The difference between requested and actual boost on low engine loads was also greater with the N249 removed indicating the N75 was having a hard time controlling boost via the wastegate compered to the N249 via the DV.

I decided to re-fit the N249 but to see if i could tidy up the cam cover a little by modifying the bracket. Heres the engine with the N249 removed - nice and tidy!

I cut the unused part of the N249 bracket off, which usually protrudes past the vacuum chamber towards the cambelt end of the engine.

Leaving me with a shortened bracket which I ground smooth and re-painted:

Here you can see the original bracket configuration and the modified one below

I also replaced the N249 hoses with silicone ones and refitted it to the bracket, after removing the scruffy sticker from the vacuum chamber:

Obviously it's not as tidy as with the valve removed but I feel better knowing its a little cleaner, and that the engine can control boost better - especially considering I'm running a "Stage 2" map and standard rods, so boost spikes are the last thing I want.

Good work mate, the liquid gauge is fairly accurate tbh won't be fair out, good power there and good findings with the N249.

I have removed mine and found it much smoother than with it plumbed in. Also a bit more vocal too.

Cheers mate.

Yeah it's certainly louder with the N294 removed. I just feel like it controlls boost better without it. I might relocate it at some point to clean up the cam cover again at some point.
