For the last few weeks my leon cupra 2007 has been clonking at low spped when turning the steering.
The best i can describe the clonking noise is like a spring hopping as you turn the wheel.
I have had a quick look at the springs etc but cannot see any immediate fault.

It doesnt do it all the time, and its no always in the same position of the steering each time either, sometimes its at full lock, othertimes it does it as you reach central. Its only noticable at low speeds (parking etc) and is loud enough for everybody in the car to hear it.

Anybody have any ideas what this could be.

Thanks

Sounds like what happened to me. Mine turned out to be a loose bolt in the front control arm.
