Steering wheel shaking at speed

Hi folks first post!

Need a bit of help with my FR, when going at speed my steering wheel now shakes and when I come off the accelerator the steering wheel jolts slightly to the right. The wheels have been all balanced so I know its not that.
Will it be just be the bushes needing replaced or will it be something more expensive?

Any advice would be great!

Yeah had the tracking done too. So it could be the bushes.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Normally if you have no vibration, then at a set speed you get the vibes but can speed up a little and it goes, it will be poor balancing.

Some tyre places are poop and can't balance wheels for love nor money, get back there and ask them to spin up each wheel before they remove the weights and see if they read zero.

Other things that can cause a wheel vibration are..........an egg shaped tyre (this can be looked at whilst your tyre monkey is checking his/her balancing). worn out dampers that allow your wheels to skip over bumps, this can give lits of flat spots on the tyres and make them like a fifty pence.

Also if your tyre monkey fits the clip on weights it is well worth marking the positions of the weights as if they use the wrong size clips they can shift about, this will make the balancing fine just after fitting but after a day or 2 the weights move and it all goes out of balance.

BTW, I am willing to bet money that your vibration is between 65 and 75MPH, for some reason it always is

Hate to dig up an old thread but i've got exactly the same problem. Serious vibration at 70mph+. I've had the wheels balanced at 2 difference garages and had my alignment check, tyres are also new. Anyone got any ideas on this?

There's no vibration at all even under hard acceleration until reaching 70mph. Also seems to be a droning noise coming from the front nearside. The last garage said the vibration was due to the car being lowered 20mm but it's been fine for the last 18 months since having it lowered.

The drone noise would tell me a bearing has gone, get the wheel off the ground a give it a pull in different directions, shouldn't be any play
