im new here but been lurking for sometime and find the forums extremely helpful.
I was wondering if someone could help me with my stereo issues i have removed the standard factory unit from my MK2 FR 2006 and installed my Android head unit
The unit works fine speakers setup correctly etc
Now my issue is im trying to find the illumination pin so i can illuminate the display once my lights have been turned on. I understand the canbus system is totally different from older cars and is a pain, I have tried pinning i think number 6 ? but nothing has happened no illumination ?
Also i understand that there is no 12V ignition switched under the canbus system so iave had to run a constant 12V but i would much prefer a Ignition switched if possible i have ordered a Piggy Back fuse to tap in to the fuse box but would much prefer the cig lighter if possible.
Does anyone know what pin is illumination and also could someone provide diagrams and also how to remove the center console in order to access the cig lighter wires ?.
