ive lowered my car too much and on my second sump in 5 days
i love the car as it is n dont want to higher it, ive avoided pot holes to a certain extint but my area is full of them.. what do you think the best option would be..
sump guard, shallow sump or engine spacers? or im going to get bigger wheels

im going to have to but i know i wont be happy n i know ill end up winding it back down :(

weld some ally on the sump.. skid plate, but you will only wear thru this too after a while.
its clearly too low :hide:

cheers for the help, think im going to make a skid plate and higher it when i get some 16" wheels :)

i found the genuine VAG two peice sump for the brazilian market worked a treat on my mk2 golf 1.8t. the steel bottom pan is a bit more forgiving to small knocks and it gives you a bit more clearance

Try a shallow sump AND spacers....then you wont have this issue and can keep it low.

Or the cheaper and easier option, which is raise it very slightly. It would only need to be a tiny bit, and only whilst the roads are still in crap condition.
