Taking out the cd player Ibiza

Hiya we have a 2005 Ibiza which we want to take out the CD player & replace it with the wifes Panasonic one we have.

The surround around the cd player is it easily removed, does it just clip in & pull out, I don't want to damage it trying to pull it out.

ther two little slots under the furthest right and left hand buttons, in there is the release ctach for the unit, al i used was two strips of cut up morrison miles card inserted then it pulled stright out

I also have a morrisons miles card I can cut up

Bugger I see the slots your talking about the right site seems to have a spring feel to it as I push the slim strip into it, but the one on the left seems dead no spring/release feel at all any other suggestions should I try a harder strip ?

yeah i would try something slightly stronger, i think i used a thick piece of plastic myself

try not to force it though if you can help it

I use an old set of removal tools from a pioneer stereo - work great
