Has Tesco 97 SUL been replaced by 99 SUL?
My local Tesco's now have 95 UL and 99 SUL but no 97 SUL.

I think I'll try some instead of Optimax when I next fill up.

Cheers Gary, think I'll try it at some point though as the Tesco's in question is about a quarter of a mile from my house compared to the nearest Shell garage being around 8 miles away.

We've got Tesco 99 down here as well. I have to say that even though it's (slightly) better than normal 95, my car doesn't like it as much as Optimax or even BP Utimate. It's hard to describe, but it just doesn't feel as smooth.

Mine is currently running fine on Tesco's 99, been using it for a week now.
Currently 95.9p compared to Optimax being around the £1 mark. I actually paid £1.05 for Optimax on the way back from Crail last weekend!!!!

Tesco's 99RON is actually from Greenergy, and is a 5% bioethanol fuel with an equivalent additives package to Optimax. Note that it has nothing to do with normal Tesco petrol.

My other half's Alfa loves the Tesco stuff, and runs like a dog on Optimax, so not all cars are built the same.

Coming soon, BP are doing a 102RON fuel...

Simon.

I'll have to check out our local Tesco station and see if they're doing it... I couldn't find it in the Midlands when it first appeared.

Nice one, even more impressive given the temperatures at the moment. (I assume you have a 225?) Mine ran 191bhp when standard but it was cold.

yeah mine is a standard 225 model LCR and that was after a "spirited" 140-150 mile drive from bedford to tewkesbury with not a lot of time to cool down. 11 bhp over standard isn't bad, i'm putting it down to the fuel and the fact that both intercoolers were fed with plenty of cold air.
