Checked the Oil level in my 8k mile TFSI last night and the level was down to minimum level :(

Topped up with GTX Magnatex as per the manual (Halfords are selling with 4.5 litre with 30% off by the way).

If you have a TFSI and havent already done so i'd take a look...

Thanks for replies

I'll make sure i check mine more often in future, surprised it went down so quickly. I've done a few miles but mainly lazy motorway/A12.

Glad i said something:)

Mine was only just showing on the dipstick, worried how long it had been like that:( I'll have to keep a regular eye on it.

Dont forget Halfords if you want Magnatex

Your glad you said somthing:cry: mine is not even wetting the dipstick, but like you say how long as it been that low..... just checked the handbook, and it does say they can use upto a litre every 1000km, thin a weekley check is deffo in order from now on:(

My old Cupra never used a drop between changes, maybe these settle down after a while, I know VAG diesels use a load of oil until they have done about 20K miles, then stop using so much...

Thanks for making me worry and check! I am getting 5lts in the morning, and top up tommorow night before I use it... glad it's only used weekends..

Mine's still looking good.

I have the Castrol Long Life oil in mine tho.

Checked it before and after last week's outing at Silverstone and its fine.

Strange how your ones are drinking oil.

No never ever thrash from cold. Looks like its just one of those things

I'm up and down the A12 a lot, and tend to stick the Cruise on alot of the time. Very rarely give it welly, tying to conserve a bit of fuel at the prices round here!

nothing strange from mine, although I changed oil @ 1500 KM to castrol synthetic light. The dealer said it was my choice, and although I didnt have to do it, they 'heavily' suggested it...

the mechanic I asked did indeed confirm that it can be anywhere in between, however, he did say that if the car is driven fast, it should be on the higher side.
I think, and someone with beter knowledge can correct me, but it depends on the type of oil you have in the car.
Of course it has to be synthetic, but some oils make a different in the friction within the engine.
so, I believe the higher quality the oil is, the lower (within the line) it can go.
Either way, I'd prefer to be on the high side.
