Hi, I have a 2012 Seat Alhambra and the power operated tailgate doesn't hold up at the top. If you make it stop manually just before the very top it stops. Could you please advise me what the problem can be ? Is it an electrical issue or gas spring boot struts need to be change. Please advise.

Hi - I’m experiencing exactly the same issue with a 2011 Alhambra that I purchased recently. I may be wrong but I think the struts are driven by an electric motor in the tailgate and a flexible telescopic worm drive rather than by using gas dampers. The whole thing is managed by a control unit that is buried somewhere hard to reach.

Unfortunately, I can’t offer an answer to the issue but I would be extremely grateful if someone on this forum could shed some light before I take it to the dealer next week for them to investigate.
