Autosport reporting:

Thommo has been drafted in as Jenson Button's replacement at Team Autosport England for this weekend's Race of Champions in Paris.

Button has been forced out of the event because of the rib injury he picked up in karting recently.

James Thompson will drive alongside World Touring Car Champion Andy Priaulx in the English team.

Excellent news. Couldn't understand why Button was in a Race of 'Champions' event.
Any idea who is replacing Jimmie Johnson ?

nothing has been said about a replacement for Jimmie Johnson as yet.

Good line up of drivers this year.

I bet Yvan Muller will be good, considering his ice racing domination. He's as much at home in a rally car as he is in a tourer.

F1 driver Scott Speed will replace the injured Jimmie Johnson for Team USA at the Race of Champions this weekend.

First the:
The ROC Nations cup represented by two drivers compete for the title of “The Fastest Nation of the World”.

Followed by:
The ROC remains the only opportunity for drivers to race in exactly the same cars and on a parallel-track. The premise is simple: using identical equipment and track, drivers can prove themselves based on their talent alone.

In 2006, sixteen drivers will compete in a series of knockout heats in their own division to determine their class champion. Then, in a shootout to determine who is the master of motorsport, the winners from the two divisions, rally and racing, will go head-to-head in a super final.

The winner is rewarded with the title “The Champion of Champions”.

Much respect to USA's Travis Pestrana :D

On his lonesome for the Nations Cup, but still manages to be runner up.

His run against Gronholm was great fun. :D

Don't forget the main event Race of Champions is still to come at 6pm

Just finished watching it after recording the race of champions - never watched it before but it was great fun.. some really close finishes and a nice variety of cars and indeed drivers. Excellent drive by Ekstrom in the Xsara especially after his fluffed start - a deserved win methinks :)

Just hope Wembly will be finished in time next year to host it, if so I'm deffo up for attending
