Currently in the process of fixing my broken 08 Cupra.
Few questions:
1) The (plastic!) butterfly in the throttle body is sightlyopen, how is this reset?
2) What are the plastic flaps in the inlet manifold?
3) How much is a new PCV and where do they crack?
4) How is idle speed controlled?

Thanks :)

1) don't know
2) probably the vag implementation of swirl flaps. 'twintake' on vaxhauls gets the same things done, and my celica had some. basically they change the way the air enters the cylinder at low rpm to give a better mix and more torque. at higher rpm them get out the way to cram as much air in as possible. They kept braking on my celica and are notorious on some diesel BMWs.
3) again, on the celica, I replaced a PCV for £12
4) idle speed bypass valve it used to be - basically a controlled leak in the TB. Not so sure on these new fangled VAG engines tho.

Thanks. I think I'll buy a PCV anyway.

Does anyone know how to recalibrate the throttle body?
