hey thinking about tinting rear lights i understand there is a legal reflection amount needed on the rear of the vehicle what i want to know is the mk2 bumper has two reflective plates at the bottom see picture for reference

so my question is am i able to tint my rear tail lights without worrying about legality of it seeing as the reflective plates are separate from the tail light clusters?

Yeah they will satisfy the requirements for reflectors, but you still need to consider how much light from the rear lights comes through your tint.

"Significantly reduced light intensity" is an MOT fail and will also attract police attention.
