Toldeo stylance suspension problems

We have the Stylance, 50k 5 y old. , and it has started getting knocking noises when turning the steering wheel, moving or stationary. I am told the front suspension mounts/ bushes and springs need replacing.
My question, is this normal? Seems a bit young for such radical treatment. Are the front suspensions on the Altea/Toldeo range really due to give up at +50kMiles?
thanks

Mounts yes, bushes maybe, springs no. Top mounts seem to perish quite quickly, bushes aren't far behind. Springs don't need to be replaced unless they're broken or weak.

I'd say the most likely suspect is the top mounts and the bearings within them.

Sorry for the delay, Thanks Slimy for that info.
Slimy I agree, with your thoughts. It is just that having been driving cars for some 58 years, I have never had a car that had this problem so early in its mileage. Even the old m2 cortina only rotted away after 120k miles, and that was a known problem.
SEATs have offered a 20% discount to correct the fault as the car is now over 59 months old and there is 'no goodwill left in it', actual quote fromn the garage. Better than nothing.
