Toledo idling at 1000rpm

Hi my. Toledo 1.6 diesel has started idling at 1000rpm but has dropped down to 800rpm a few times this has happened for just over a week and also the stop start function has stopped working now any advice/help would be greatly appreciated

Haven't got a diesel but from other threads on here and Briskoda its probably DPF regen related.

I would check your battery voltage as my previous Vag diesal when the battery voltage was low, ie cold starts and using a lot of ancillaries caused the engine to idle high to try and charge the battery..
