You know better that to believe everything you read! It's not that it's not true... I just think it's more complicated than it's made out to be...........................

Sounds scarey, just hope that Flash doesn't get treated like he did last year at TD. A few races, then pushed in favour of somebody else

Hope that does not happen 2 years in a row :(

Tom's Leon was awsome to watch, big over run flames pops and bangs, The petrol powered leon is back (at last) and going well too. Watched him have a run with Chilton as well, but the Focus had the edge

I'm not surprised, I just learned today that the Focus has a turbo to make up for the lack of revs from the gas engine and the extra weight it carries. Apparantly the Neals have been complaining about that already!

Matt neal was being a idot as always, going into mclarens i noticed him nudging Tom Boardmans leon into the corner. the reason they are moaning their car was crap, tail happy rear wheels locking up no real speed, dont know why they bother with that civic its pants. next neal will moan that JP is driving a better car:blahblah::blahblah: why cant he and his dad just sod off and let the real men race

As much as I'd like to agree with you that the Leon was "going well", it wasn't really

One of the slowest cars through the speed traps, and in the morning session was 15th out of 18 (to put into perspective Matt Hamilton and John George were quicker)

In the afternoon session, again 15th out of 18.

There were engine mapping issues, which may explain being about 1½ seconds off pace, but still, hardly "going well"

It's supposedly had a lot of suspension work done over the winter. It looked really bad to drive last year, hopping and bouncing allover the place. It needs a driver of the class of Thommo/Muller/Plato to get a result from it. It'll struggle otherwise.

I guess Special Tuning were maybe also working on getting the right setup for the Dunlops, with them having only run that car on Yokohamas previously. And there's no point asking the previous owner for data, as it originally was DT's TDi car from 2008.

Like tom said to us "never show your true colours ;)" the leon will be strong at some tracks and weak at others plus the weather in the afternoon was hardly the best

Two words. Sand Bagging. All of them. Nothing you saw yesterday can be taken at face value!

Never said it was a true representation, just that it wasn't "going well" ;)

I think some of what we saw should be taken seriously, Plato making the fastest ever lap of the Indy Circuit in an S2000 car, (well according to the BTCC website)

That was just a display of skill and speed. (OK, so it wasn't under the pressure of race conditions)

My point was, for whatever reason, Boardman was off pace, as were a few other

Agreed but if Plato was running with no ballast and Boardman with max ballast, we have no way of knowing what was really going on.

Question is, if they push the secong car out, who's gonna be sitting in it?

Just to slide back on topic as much as I love a good Neal bashing thread......I'd like to see James Thompson driving the second Leon. IMO he's one of the best Touring car drivers out there.

What is Thommo doing this year...so far I've only clocked him commentating on the WTCC which no matter how good he is at it seems a massive waste.

Well, I'm kinda glad that at least 1 Leon will be coming out to play this year, (Special Tuning UK site says they aim for 2......................good times)

Great to see Boardman back on UK turf in the BTCC.

Jones or Shedden are obvious choices, but there are still a lot of faces that haven't shown themselves yet.

Who would you like to see driving it.

hi i work for Tom boardman and to let you know the second driver wont be with us till around half way through the season not giving any names out just in case it doesnt go a head we had a little problem at brands for media day test engine over fueling had a lot of after burn and black smoke but will be all sorted for thurxton with another engine put in
