Thats the point i'm trying to get across here, a ko3 won't flow enough air to keep up with 250bhp, it may well peak at that for a tiny amount of time but then your instantly out of puff, really pointless. IMO the only thing that would be good for is pub ammo, but on the road it'll just be rubbish.

I understand what your all saying but as said TT roadsport is using his as a daily runner @ 1.5BAR boost with no problems. Granted it didn't say how long milage wise this has been. It did ention having 70k on the clock but i doubt it will have been running that long on nearly 100% boost. Isn't this the idea of forge when they designed their uprated actuator for k03?

My k03 runs 1.6bar so how come i don't have 250bhp? It has to be down to the mapping and the only way to get a k03 to push 250bhp is in extremely short bursts.

Beaker is you boost aided by actuator adjustment or mapped to boost 1.6BAR? Have you had any running problems with running the k03 at this level of boost?

It was dyno'd at 259 bhp and 290 lbft on both runs. The car has always been strong and fast. You can see that its the same as the big turbo'd TT that we did.

It was actually running 1.8 bar peak and dropped off to 1.4 at 6000rpm. I never bothered mapping it for top end rpm as it didnt need to be.

With that setup it was running 4.9 0-60 and 13.8 quarters. Loads of golfs on VW vortex have broken the 260bhp mark on STD K03's. All a K03s will do is give a tad more boost at the top. IMHO they are not worth the money or fitting effort. Others will disagree, but thats what opinions are for!!!

My car is now running a K04 with the forge actuator and a special blend of my custom mapping and injectors. Its got a 1.9 bar peak which only drops too 1.6 at 7200rpm. After a race with the shops RS6 (540bhp) i can confirm that we were the same up to 130mph when the RS just starts pulling over to the 200mph limit. (Private test tracks!!!)

Mine peaks at 1.6 due to mapping i would have thought (only REVO stage 1), that equates to 23psi. I did replace my actuator along time ago for another standard one) and roughly set it by eye. Had the k03 running like this for the last 2yrs with no problems.

What map was that as mine peaks at 1.6BAR but can barely hold on to 1BAR at 5k?

Is the limit that causes limp mode not part of the remap? I'm sure that raising that limit is part of the map.

hi, i'm still on k03 at the moment and it peaks at 24psi which is about 1.65bar. i'm still on the standard actuator with no adjustments and i've been running it on this boost for about 8 months now with no problems.:)

also i'm with alex on the k03s upgrade in my oppinion it's a lot of hassle for very little gain, most of the well modified k03 cars are more then capable of holding there owne against a k03s conversion and some can hold the k04 at bay.
