Just cleaning the car and I noticed that one of my tyres has a huge thorn sticking out of the side of it. I pulled it out and unsuprisingly the tyre went down.

So I now have:
1 Michelin Piolet Primacy with 4mm of tread
2 Michelin Piolet Primacy with 5mm of tread
1 Pirelli P Zero Nero on the spare which is new.

I hate the michelins and they are v expensive to buy!

So I was thinking of either getting a new P Zero Nero (£93) and putting the Michelin on the spare or just buying two new GSD3's (£160).

What do you guys recon? Are the P Zero Nero's any good?

I always had the GSD3's on my leon, thats why I'm tempted by them again! I thought the main complaint from the leon guys about pirellis was the P6000's?

The puncture is in the side wall so cant be repaired:(

I had a quick search and couldn't find anyone slating the nero's? Have you got any links?

They seem to be praised quite alot over on briskoda too...

I think I will end up getting a single nero, as much as I love the GSD3's I dont think I can justify the extra 70 quid over nero.

Bargain tyres......

Hi all I have just had 4 Kumho KU31 ECSTA SPT fitted for £225 for four, yes four!!The difference over the standard Bridgestones is amazing, ie these things grip and grip especially in the wet. I tried braking from a highish speed (well over 70!) little abs kick in but boy did it stop - I have a 312mm TT brake setup so I was well impressed.

handling seems very progressive and noise is no worse - top bargain tyre with hugely improved performance - can't recommend them enough.

Also - some guy with a 190bhp Fabia VRS trialed them saying they were far better than the Michellins he replaced - they easily handled the torque too - quite a reccomendation..they handle my 220bhp/230lb/ft torque easily.

WARNING - these tyres are very slippery when new take care - 4th gear wheel spin until scrubbed in!!

Tyrespot is the place to get them....and no I don't work for either company just sharing what I think is a bargain.
