Hi,

Ibiza 2001 X reg cupra

Been away on holiday for a week and just tried to unluck the car and nothing

The led in the car doors is flashing as normal to say its locked, and when i press my key fob the light on that comes on to say its trying

My drivers and passenger doors have had the locks smoothed so I can only use the boot key bit to open it, not tried yet, alarm will go off wont it

Guessing maybe its just the key fob battery thats died or dying and isn't giving off enough signal to open it?

or could it be something else?

help lol

after some searching going to try a few things

change the 2 batteries, CR2016's

Then climb in through the boot... wont be easy as i reversed it right up against my wall when i went away lol

then try to re-code it

Try this:
Key coding
1 ignition on to red lights on dash
2 turn off immediately and pull key out
3 hold 1 of the buttons down (dont matter which)
4 PRESS the other 3 times ( with a SLIGHT pause) 1 . 2 . 3
5 watch led on key (should flash) and doors usually try lock/unlock
6 turn ignition key back on to red lights and wait 5 sec
7 key out again and test operation

NOOO still can't get in, changed battery and as before the led lights up but doesnt do anything

no door locks so i tried the key in the boot, key turns but it doesn't unlock the boot so I can't climb in to re-code it....

I'm really stuck.... what other option do I have apart from calling out the AA???

tried using the key, boot wont unlock.....

Just tried again and noticed my clock in the dash is on 0:00 so I'm guessing its the actual car battery thats died? as it would normally hold the time wouldn't it even when the keys not in ignition?

if so then I now need to get the bonnet up so I can charge the battery

sorted...

popped out the S bit of the grill and popped the bonnet up that way, jumped the car for 30 seconds and then the key worked again so I can get in the car
