Well only had my cupra a few weeks, however i've noticed the headlights (dipped beam) are a bit pathetic, especially on dark country roads, i find my self with a que behind me because i don't feel confident in driving at 'normal speeds'

I brought a full set of Phillips Blue Vision bulbs (dipped, main and fogs) for the car, and while the fogs and mains are great, the dipped beams are still crap!

As much as i hate to say it, the headlights on my old punto were better.

I've looked into other options and i really don't want to go HID (had hid's on last car for a while and they were just a pain, and retro fit kits are not strictly legal anymore, altho most people don't have problems come MOT time)

Is it just me? or do others find this aswell?

I've got HID's on mine, i bought them as a part of a groupbuy from the other seat forum a while ago. They are 10 times better than standard, i've had no probs whatsoever from mine, i'd recommend HID's to anyone. I'm gonna buy another set for my punto off ebay soon.

how are HIDs a "pain"?

They take about 30 mins to fit and afaik they are legal, or they pass MOT's anyway. I think the laws such as headlight washers only apply to factory fit kits...

I think HIDs are one of the best mods to do personally.

The headlights on mine are just fine. Better than a lot of the cars i've had anyway. I certainly feel comfortable giving it some round country lanes with them dimmed.

think I got the original 10000k kit off mydepots.com, then bought a set of 6000k bulbs off ebay.

i prefered the look of the 10000k (bit more blue, but nowhere near purple), but the light beam is better on the 6000k's (although the 10000k were still alot better than standard)

Have you tried using the switch to adjust the beams? Its next to the switch that controls the illumination of your lights on your dash just below the headlight switch.

I find my lights fine and I get flashed sometimes by other motorists when I have the headlights projecting the furthest.

Just a thought before you shell out for HID's

Sorry to bring this thread back to life, but i thought i'd let you know i finally gave in and went the HID route.

Heres a pic (altho because of the flash on the camera it doesn't show how bright the lights are)

It's a 6000k kit, and they are great! no need for main beam anymore :D
