vag-com wont work on audi

i got 53 Audi a3 me and a friend have been trying to put the bleep on when i fob the car as well as other things but the only place he can get any access is to the engine but this is locked down and asking for a code. im not too good with this but any help would be brilliant thanks

Isn't the obd port in the same place as a Leon, ie forward of the gearlever under the dash?

its the 2003 shape the new face lift came out on 05 this is the one before
the port is under the dash just past the bonnet release

The A3 "beep" controller is in 35 - Central Locking. You need Coding and add 1024 to the number thats there. Test and Save.

Do you mean the engine controller is the only one you can access? I have found that Audis of this age don't have the Central Conv controller, like Seats do.... Try the above if you haven't already.

Is it a genuine lead and software version?

ive hooked vag com upto his car and only the engine controller will allow access just to scan for any fault codes, it does not find any other controllers.

the engine controller also requires a security key to access any futher options.

the vag com im using is a full version.

is there any reason for the 2.0tdi to be this restricted or do i have the wrong cable? it works fine with my 06 plate PD130 BLT Ibiza.
