Hey all,

I had my new Leon FR delivered on Sunday, and I love it :) I have one issue which I was hoping others could comment on....

When i pull the stork for the screen washers, it takes a few seconds for anything to happen... is this normal with SEATs? It is my experience with all other cars (that i have owned) that when you push the button for screen wash, it sprays instantly.... It's really annoying me (especially with all the sat and crap on the roads atm)

Thanks all

Not sure if it will give you spray any faster but many are fitting the fan jets in place of the triple jets

Thanks deano. I want to install those, they look great. However I want to determine if there is a problem before I mod them...

This used to be a popular mod on older cars to give instant spray -

it's a non return valve to prevent the water sinking back down the tube.

Thanks, that looks great. Do you know if the tubing is 5mm?

Not measured it yet but once you find out they do various sizes.

Cool. Thanks. I'll check it out this weekend, hopefully order a pair and get back on results.

Mine's the same, they also spray the headlights every time which I assumed was the delay.. Seems to mean I go through washer fluid in no time at all.... I preferred my old S3 where the headlights only sprayed if you held the washer stalk for an extended period of time. cest la vie

If you know someone with vcds - the frequency of headlight to windscreen washes can be changed.

Also - if the headlights are off - the headlight washer is inactive

I'll add the headlight washer to the desire to turn off the sound actuator and the stop-start if I ever get around to finding someone with VDCS.. I'd planned to try the VAG specialists in Milton Keynes area at some point

im just gonna unplug mine, i don't know of anyone with VDCS or have time to drive to the dealers :)

The soundaktor reminds me of having a playing card in the spokes of my bike when I was a kid - haha
Trying to make it sound like something it isn't.

at least with the playing cards you could antagonize the neighbours, all the soundaktor does is annoy anyone sat inside the vehicle lol

washer jet one way valve

Has anyone tried the one way valve and does it work. Also how far down from the jets have you placed it. Is it ok with heated jets.

yes ok with heater jets you only need one anywhere between washer bottle and washers as there is only one tube that goes to washer then splits into two

have fitted fan washers to mine and i have measured the original washer and it appears to be 5mm but valve would have to go into tube before it goes into bonnet but the tube is covered in black coating which means cutting through coating and tubing but for what you would gain does not seem worth it
