Last comment make sure you get it serviced on or before its due and use good oil as you are using this engine and it needs protection to give long life.

Other than more regular oil changes are there any other service items which should have their service intervals shortened? I'm thinking perhaps plugs and coil packs? I was going to plumb for colder plugs on my stage 1 but consensus seems to be its overkill for stage 1 and oem plugs are more than adequate.

Simple answer is you are putting more pressure on the car.

So keep an eye on all the normal stuff (brakes, oil, engine coolant, tyres (you are pushing these much harder on the front)) etc.

For me it was making sure I got everything done on or before its due date to make the engine last as long as possible.

And stuff does break in normal life so the more power you put down the line the more likely you are going to have a problem.
These engines are great and will take a lot but it pays to look after them well.

I got the Audi plugs that people recomended never went for the colder ones and not found a need for it yet.

Coil Packs again I have not changed mine if one fails then I will replace with the latest revision but would not bother changing them till then as I am more than happy with what I have.

You are not building a track car, just a fast road car treat it well and hopefully it will last well.

sensible advise oldboy :1st: I think I'll change plugs sooner rather than later and keep up with regular oil changes every 8 - 10k using quality oil. Everything else can be inspected as and when. I plan on keeping the car a few years so needs a bit of tlc [B)]

@Maypack...you know it make sense with the front splitter. It’s a great addition to the cupra 300, especially with your colour of car and against the gloss black wing mirrors etc it’s going to look fab.

Can’t wait to see the finished product..

Order placed for the Rieger front splitter. Got to wait till next week for delivery then I’ve got to figure out how to put it on. I don’t have any ability to get it off the ground at home.

I’ll put some pictures up when its fitted.

Need to look into some gentle tints for the front fog lights. Don’t want too dark, just something to take away the clear glass amongst the black.

It’s not that difficult to fit mate, and I’m sure you must know someone who has some jack stands you can borrow. All the fitting instructions come with the splitter kit. As they say.. you can’t beat German engineering. As for the fog lights I’m sure there is a cheaper option than the ones that @Damo H showed us at the weekend, delivery was a liberty. Just get a roll cheaper and gently cut around it with a craft knife.

The delivery price has shot up since I ordered them. I say get flyeye. You get enough to do a whole windscreen for the same price so plenty of practice left overs.

I enquired about a Cupra 4drive today... finally found one I could afford with pano roof and adaptive cruise.

Contacted the dealer and it’s sold already

I can feel my 280 hating me, it’ll break down tomorrow I bet

I've not told mine that she's being traded in for an R. I'm hoping to get her by surprise...and then it'll be too late for anything to go wrong.

Managed to source a set of rs7 plugs, part #06k905601m and they arrived in pretty Bentley boxes. A fair bit cheaper than tps price which surprised me

Oh yes lots and lots to do, I fancy a wrap like @Leeoncupra has (Red and White Malborough colours) with a bit of Revo 3 on the side.
She will end up as a full time track car so then suspension will be changed to race version.
Need to get the HUD system working and I have many plans for the Inside (no not replacing screen for bigger one as that is what HUD is for)

Also need to get myself some semi slicks for the track.

But need to start saving for all of that.
I'll dig a picture out at some point... but my snowboard looks like the old Marlborough packet :) :)

Had the wheel alignment checked on my ST Cupra today. Bought a new set of PS4S's and found that one of the old Bridgestones had quite significant wear on the inside threads. Didn't want to destroy my lovely new PS4S's immediately so fancied an alignment check.

There wasn't anything in my old alignment that was clearly the reason for the uneven wear on the old tires and they believed the issue was already corrected by the previous owner (probably after he noticed the uneven wear). But happy I checked as now I don't have to worry about it anymore!

This is the sort of scheme I am going to look at, He did have lots of advertising on it when he bought it but had that taken off,
I just think the Revo sign down the bottom would look great. Lucky I have no money at the mo so that can wait till I change my mind for something else.

Can I ask, did you order it direct with Rieger in Germany or through a UK dealer? Did you go for the gloss black version... that looks soooooo good

Got it from eBay. @Deano j1971 put me into it as I saw it on his car at the meet last weekend. That’s what made my mind up to get it. Just arrived today and being fitted Sunday.

Pic shows what it looks like fitted although my car is Desire Red.

That's the one I'd go for if I'd got a 300.

It’s looks great against White @Deano j1971 car was what sold it to me. I think it’s going to enhance the front of my Desire Red Cupra and would look good on a Carbon too.

Oh and I’ve ordered some flyeye tints to have a go at the front fogs only. Just want to see if I can reduce the clear glass on the front. Will post pics when I’ve played around with it.
