Call me biased but I've driven a Hyundai Kona 2 litre and a Toyota C-HR, both were low km rentals and we did 500 km's in them. Honestly, I thought both were rubbish. The Hyundai was so bad, I was surprised it was released like that. Jiggly ride, gutless engine, horribly vague auto and not very economical. The Toyota was an aesthetic horror, but also felt very cheap. It's 1.2 turbo and CVT box is leagues away from the Aronas 1L and DSG. It did 7.4L/100km's, 1l more than the Arona on the open road. My wife and I both had aches and pains from the seats even after such a short drive. Not to mention no AA or Carplay in a 2018 model. I'd like to try the Mazda CX3 sometime, but I suspect it'll still have that Japanese blandness about it.
