I have the Allen keys - I just wish I could get the thing off without being terrified I'm going to snap the bolts...

Had a day of cleaning - first up was the house windows inside & out, followed by cleaning / lubricating their hinges. Then I moved onto my winter wheels/tyres: cleaned with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD, stiff brush & water then dried using my “dog dryer”. Applied & buffed 2 coates of Poorboys wheel sealant then treated the tyres to Meguires tyre gel

Got carried away and pulled out my push bike, cleaned it as above and just carried on with polishing the metalwork with the Poorboys then dressed the tyres with the Meguires - the wife just shook her head and tutted

First time the starfish wheels don’t look total poo. They look sick! Are they just a brushed alloy finish? That’s my favourite finish. Any pics of them fitted? I have the same but the guy colour matched them to the car, which is fine but they’re flaking badly and I cannot justify touching them up when I’m replacing them lol.

Cheers Connor, they are powder coated in original alloy silver. Not had them fitted yet so this was a spring clean before storage - I acquired the wheels from my son when he moved out and couldn’t be bothered with them

If you say so... ;)

I've seen a lot of videos and read a lot of guides where they say that anything connected to the engine is going to be practically welded on with all the heating and cooling. I was going to give it a clean a couple of months ago and even bought a new gasket for the job, but after all the trouble I had cleaning the EGR valve, I just didn't have the energy to do the manifold as well.

Exhaust manifolds are a bitch for that reason, but inlet manifolds are usually fine.

That has happened a few times - given there aren't as many in the road these days, there might be someone who knows your car.

I hate the idea of the kinds of things happening to your car though - fairly straightforward to fix, but it's all time, effort and money.

I think you won’t find that here to be honest at least not in the 1M category we’re not that many people as there used to be on this form.
