What made you buy your Cupra?

Didn't buy but leased, jumped on the 290 BE when they were £131 a month, had never driven one or really seen one, but ordered it anyway as I didn't even mind if I didn't like it for that price, had it for 2 years and it was a great car, it went back a few months ago and now got a 68plate s4 saloon

I don't really know why other people's reasons for having a particular car affect the decision about what you have, but to each their own. I still see very few Cupras on the road - maybe 1 other per week on my commute.

Because as I explained above SCN and other SEAT Forums used to have a big show season where we all met up and did events together, the numbers have since dwindled because most owners these days "just leased it because it was cheap"

I see on a regular commute about 6-7 Cupra's a day. There is 5 in my office car park.

This must be a regional thing then. Mine is the only one I've spotted on the business park I work at, let alone the car park for my office. Then again, maybe they are badge snobs - it's all BMWs and Porsches.

I was looking for a family sized car. My Focus RS is my toy and not really got boot space, and the 2007 BMW120d was getting long in the tooth, plus I was fed up with diesel engined cars. I wanted something with 4wd, 300hp and good performance. Looked at the Golf R Estate but found it too boxy, and dull looking.
Saw the ST 300 4drive and liked what I saw and how it drove so placed an order.
Coming up on 1 year into my 4 year PCP.
Mines in Mystery Blue with panoramic roof, Seat sound upgrade and driver assistance packs (adaptive cruise etc). Didn't want KESSY but would have been nice to have the wireless charging (although the slot in front of the gear stick is just big enough for my iPhone 8 Plus!
Love the cars subtlety - it is a proper sleeper. Quick and not a bad drive - areas could be better - engine is not especially characterful under acceleration, and sadly the DSG box doesn't change up at optimum RPM, but close to red line which is pointless, but the car is a great cruiser, comfortable and so much easier to drive in morning and evening rush hour traffic!

Just to check, you say you see 6-7 a day and 5 in your works car park... you dont work at a Seat dealership do you?

I can honestly say that, since I ordered my Cupra in April, I've never seen one on the road!

I've seen one local to me but I think it was the FWD 290 one.

According to the How Many Left website (www.howmanyleft.co.uk) there were just 268 Cupra 300 TSI 4drive registered/on the road between Q1 2017 to Q3 of 2018, so quite a rare car to see on the roads. There are 919 Cupra 300 TSI (not 4Drive) for the same period.

Always wanted a Mk5 GTI in my teenage years, finally got a job and money to get a decent car but I needed it to be reliable and economical so the GTI plan was left behind. Test drive a few 1.6 diesel Golfs but they were expensive and I hate diesels. Came across the Leon after my dad suggested it, went for a look and ended up buying a brand new Leon FR 1.4tsi. Loved the car but made the mistake of going to test drive a Cupra 290 DSG and after that first drive I was hooked. Spent the next 2 years planning and saving for the Cupra and bought a 290 DSG last year in April. The power, noise and car spec is the main draw for me. They're a bargain mini supercar and they're rare in Ireland so its nice to have something a bit different.

Cupras are actually rare in the north west, I've only ever seen one and it was on Birmingham plates probably passing through. Looked into getting a cupra last year to compete with a mates S3 but ended up getting a FR 184. No regrets it's fast enough and get a good mpg off it.
