Hi all,
Hope someone can help im trying to work out whats thr difference between a 5f and 6p sat nav systems?
also is changing the 5f to 6p easy to change?

Also i have a fr 2014 model and i was looking at getting the 8' screen is that possible?

Is it easy to change from easy connect gen 1 to Gen 2 and whats the difference?

no, its not very easy at all, as far as I know, you need to buy all the components, then send them off to have the protection coding removed, then fit them to the car and then take it to have the units coded to your car.

Well thats BS i hear software update to most seat units is a pain too

Well i got the right version of maps and free updates put them on the original card and shows error grr

to be honest, I have a 2014 FR with the MIB1 sat nav and I find it absolutely fine.... have never updated the maps and never not been able to find somewhere

I never got Sat Nav after talking to friends with a Golf GTi 7, the lack of recalculation drove them nuts. I find Google maps on AA excellent.

Fully unlocked. Just need bigger screen to go with it which are cheap, might even work with standard screen

The above unit still requires a 6.5 or 8" screen to work won't work with the 5.8" one, you also need to install a new USB port for Android auto to work etc.

The mib2 is so dear but the 8'screen isnt too expensive strange, i wonder why the mib2 is so expensive?

Why dont you look at https://www.alpine.co.uk/p/Products/headunits-for-seat/ilx-702leon for not a lot more money you will have new screen, connectivity and still use the Seat Car features.

Only downside's for me (which i why I did not buy one) is it does not support Traffic Sign Recognition or Seat Soud.
