what size wheels were they again?

He's got 19's with 235/35/19 tyres!
you'll have to go down to a 225/35 tyre i reckon! also if its rubing on the inside of the arch,a 5mm slip on spacer will help. if its the outside, you'd better put your cousin on a diet :D

Are they 20mm when on the ground or in the air? as when a car is lowered to the ground,it will tuck in a bit!

theyer 20mm outside the arches on the ground, springs wont tuck them in enough, would need wheels lathed and arches flared, too much hasstle i think, just gonna change the wheels again, maybe go down to 18s and then try the springs again, anyone any suggestions on wheels???

tbh, i have posted a few times on size of wheels for Alteas and offsets.

8x18 et45 are sound. the rears could goto et35 but it would be pushing it slightly.

When looking at your Altea it really does look lowered. mine was like a 4x4 before i lowered mine on 18's

see!

Lowered on 30mm Eibach springs and Eibach Shocks.

the drop at the backwas more like 50mm.

Factory standard wheel dimensions on a 2.0 TDI Sport is 7x17 et54. use the offset calculator here:
