Hi,

just bought my 2002 leon cupra which is my first turbo car. I'm looking to buy a dump valve but the prices seem to range alot and I can see the difference between the ones for £45 or the ones for £130. Can anyone tell me the difference and which dump valve is the best to go with?

Thanks, luke

The best one to go for is the tried and tested Forge 007p. This however is a recirculating diverter valve as opposed to an atmospheric dump valve which you car will eventually treat as a boost leak. If it's the sound you're after your best bet would probably be a Forge Splitter Valve although they can be difficult to set up. If you're after the Jap whoosh on gear change you're going to be dissapointed I'm afraid. This has been covered loads of times before and a search will reveal all.

Hi
As has been said the 007P is the most popular
Although the SplitR will work very well as long as it is not on a car with a large turbo , and most of all set up correctly
But try swapping the 007P round for more noise , especially on a CAI
Oooh and we have an offer on the Awesome 007P`s just now at £69.50 all in delivered ;)

So if I fit the 007p will it make any sound or is it just for performance?

I've got a turbo dynamics recirc dump valve, in black, same design as the 007, straight fit, good condition, £45 posted?

It does make a sound but if you want the most noise you can get from it you're going to need an open cone filter or a smoothed/driller airbox.

Also I see a bit of a price war emerging, lol. And in the lead we have Awesome Gti with £69.50 all in delivered, which is a very good price btw. Anyone care to beat £69.50 all in??
:D

Thanks for all your posts (and for the sound effects lol). Think I'm on settled on the 007p as I don't want it to loud but loud enough to notice. Also, the ease of fitting and performance gains seem to make the most sence.

Sarah, what do you mean by swapping it around? Think I'm going to be very interested in your offer. How do I go about buying one?

She means fitting it in reverse, so that the vacuum nipple points sideways instead of up. Makes the dump a little louder, but as said above, you can drill holes in the standard airbox or fit an open cone filter to amplify the noise

Yes swap the 007P round and it does give more noise

Yes the SplitR can be made to be full recirc with the blanking plug

Yes the SplitR does work , tried and tested on a TT that my son fitted and all has been OK for the past couple of years

Yes we are doing the 007P as part of the 12 deals of Christmas...but I know that all you guys have seen it , as I have been talking about it on the forums....sure you guys have read my post? ;)

Oooh and yes the CAI with a 007P sounds good too , as we call it , Dath Vader with a cold :cartman:
