Who did you use to remap your Cupra?

Thinking about getting my Cupra 300 remapped at some point in the near future when funds allow...

There seem to be a bewildering number of tuning companies out there, all of whom claim to be ‘specialists’... I’ve already contacted a few and the prices (as well as the gains) all seem to vary quite a bit!

I’m just wondering:

Who did you use?
How much did it cost?
Did they come to your home address (or could they)?
What increase did you see in power, torque and mpg?

Thanks in advance :)

There’s hundreds of different companies out there. But they all fall into 2 categories you either have companies like APR and Revo that have developed and tested the map and then it’s off the shelf plug and play, or you have companies that will custom make a tune to your requirements.

I’m running APR stage 2 and I’m very happy with it. On the stage one remap my Cupra 280 jumped from 286bhp to 374bhp. There was a massive difference when driving it felt like a different car! And the best thing was the mpg was unaffected when driving normally. Just make sure you have decent tyres on the front (Michelin PS4S) otherwise you’ll just spin the wheels and won’t go anywhere! A good custom mapper (MRC, NVM, Unicorn) will also do a good job getting extra power out of your Cupra.

With regards to cost the APR high torque costs about £750 which is a lot but if you wait till the right time they normally do 10-20% off sales I know Revo also do sales at some point in the year. I also looked around and the first offer I got the guy only wanted £250 but that was out the back of a van and he said he could bring it to 350bhp. I went for APR because I know it’s been tried and tested. I went to Regal autosport in Southampton so a proper garage and had a before and after rolling road runs to see the gains.

At the end of the day these aren’t really cheap cars, so sped the extra money and get someone well known and decent to remap it, that way you’re sure you won’t run into any problems! Hope I could help
