That makes sense with the clutch etc as you are trying to get away quickly the initial start would be quite aggressive and start the wheels spinning needs to be more progressive which having the car ready to go with the handbrake on its already trying to go if you get me? Will defo try that next time I think might come inters give it a go there not sure.

Will think about the bush as I will have to get it fitted aswell at least I know where to get it from now.

I was waiting until the 4/5 orange lights came up and then went by that time it had gone green I just had it in D but knocked across and pinned it being careful at the start.

I was thinking of going Inters, but the price is stupid.

Jason. I will assume they do have a press, most places have one to do wheel bearings and bushes. If you go for it let me know what you think.

I dont think you have to pay the £70 for unlimited. Not worth it anyways. Its usually £5 a run and I used about 4 last year.

Ha ha yea I will get the pics up as soon as I am back from working in Scotland.

I was a bit sheepish about posting the pics as when I asked for peoples thoughts before i got them, some of the comments weren't positive :-(

Well, I have decided not to go stage 2+. Will just keep the car as it currecntly is as Insurance are raping me for all these additions. Now I am sitting with a twintercooler I can do nothing with. may pop it up on flea bay and get shot of it for waaaaaaay below RRP. Still gonna put the induction kit on maybe, or get shod of that too. I can't justify the premium hike for those additionas tbh.

I think holding it on the handbrake while the car is in 'S' mode with foot over accelarator then when lights go green let the handbrake off and sink the foot :) you should practise some starts somewhere before you go and see what works best for you.

I would still fit the intercooler. Just not bother with stage 2+ remap. an intercooler on its own will not increase the output, or itf it does it will be minimal. What it will do is allow your car to maintain that power without suffering powerloss though heat soak. It'll be safer and better for reliability to run the performance intercooler rather than the stock IC.

Id let the Insurance Co know that personally. as long as you dont get that stage 2+ remap there shouldnt be any increases as theres no power change. The intake will add ower though, so you might not be able to justify that to the insurance.

Who are you insured with?

Chris Knott now only accept a maximum of 20bhp increase so they are out of the market now.

christ when did that change. my premium was only £100 more expensive for stage 2+ which was 80hp gain, plus coilovers, brakes, arbs etc etc. why has gre en li ght been starred out?

there was an issue a while back where they were getting your details and then "blacklisting" your car for being modded. There was a thread about it, stay faaaaaaaaaar away from them I have been told.

Picked it up when reading through their thread on golfmk5 forum Sy. Got a very reasonable quote from Sky the other day.
