a mate had his 110 mapped and he saw better mpg and performance, however had his car nerfed off the road last week by an old guy when he was overtaking him and a tractor and the old guy just pulled out to overtake the tractor without looking

had mine mapped and pretty much echo's what others have said, power increase has been rather impressive but as i have no comparison i can't say for certain what the improvement is but stage 1 revo for mine should have gone 150-190ish for bhp and 230-290/300 lf/ft torque i think

as for economy as people say if you drive correctly you will see an improvement and i do of around 5mpg on average i would say since having it done, but the extra power is very tempting to use plus i have moved now so the car is not used to its most efficient but i can still get over 60mpg on a good run still

so as today was the day what has been the result? happy with the improvement or not had the chance to properly test her out since?

When you have a remap you will notice the difference in power, as for fuel economy that is down to your right foot. To get more power you must have more air and fuel so inevitably you will use more fuel when using the extra power. but beware some tuners increase the fuel to high for the boost resulting in smoke and soot which can cause the turbo vanes to stick (the main cause for limp home mode on a TDI and possible turbo failure)

I have never had the car on a rolling road but I am running the same boost as a 1.9 tdi cupra 150hp so I would guess around 160hp. I need to uprate to a 3 bar MAP sensor to get any more power as my standard 2.5 bar sensor limits the boost to just under 22psi.

The de-cat improves the spooling of the turbo and the SDi inlet manifold improves torque at low engine speeds, this combination makes the engine nice and responsive and has no more lag than the standard VNT15 turbo

I'm considering getting mine remapped, tdi pd150 at the moment. I'm guessing I could see gains to around 180, but I've heard that the clutch will most likely slip with the extra power. I don't want to upgrade this either. What do we all think?

Also with regard to the comment above, what boost does it run as standard?

I've mapped a work collegues 1.9tdi 150 cupra with awsome results.. but had to tame the map down in the midrange as the torque would cause clutch slip.. mind you it would light up the wheels in 3rd gear & sometimes 4th.
The map he has now keeps the top end power yet has reduced midrange power to protect the clutch until he can get a upgrade, to be honest if your going thru the gears and going to the redline in each gear you will not drop below 3000 rpm so the drop in mid range torque would no make a lot of difference to the cars all out performance.

p888uld .. my next mod for my car is new wheels.. although not listed on my mods I did fit a lower strut brace two weeks ago which does improve handling slightly.

Sorry forgot to add boost pressures  ...
Standard boost pressures
110 tdi 1050mbar (15psi)
130 pd 1300mbar (19.58 psi)
150 pd 1500mbar (21.75 psi)

you know what my clutch might be slippin now, im finding it harder n harder to get a smooth gear change. its a 110bhp remapped to about 130- 140, that should be able to handle that right? also wolve, you say strut brace was worth the money? think about gettin one? cheers!

Its the torque that make the clutch slip, the 1.9 tdi produces peak torque around 1,900 rpm
I have also found that the DMF (dual mass flywheel) will judder if you put to much torque through it the standard 110 tdi flywheel can handle around 220 lb/ft the 130-150pd with 6 speed gearbox can handle more torque (around 250lb/ft)
Because of this I have mapped mine to keep the torque down to a safe level below 2,500 rpm and have no problems with clutch slip with the standard clutch.
If I should have any clutch problems in the future I intend to replace the clutch & fit a single mass flywheel.

A lower strut brace is quite cheap around £30 don't expect a huge change but it does improve handling, I fitted an aluminium one of ebay which is OK but hangs quite low and had to modify the belly plate for it to fit. I would recommend getting one from Audi as they are fitted as standard on the S3 and require no modifications see link bellow.
