Am I right in saying, there isn't a way to track an order with the order number other than through your dealer or Seat UK?

Does anyone's new 290 do the dsg "farts"? When in cupra mode the most I can get from mine is light pops/crackles on overun/downchanges and only hear that with the back windows down. The exhaust does have a nice tone as does the boost/intake noise from the airbox/turbo.

Am I doing something wrong or is it not gonna happen?

I would like to know the answer to this too as this is also my experience. Its not a major problem for me but I was wondering if the sound has been tamed with the wltp changes

I can't find it right now, but a few pages back someone made a post about this. I think he got the best results in Sport mode with the gearbox in Sport as well (so not manual). However, even then the results are far less pronounced than the 300 or the old 290.
It may have something to do with the new 7-speed gearbox being faster, the new GPF, and maybe even new exhaust regulations (WLTP).

Ah right, I've not tried sport mode. Normal cruising is done in comfort and when I feel like a hooligan I put it into cupra lol.

Only when the exhaust is stinking hot. Select Cupra mode with DSG in Sport and you get the DSG fart at about 5 -6k revs

It is frustrating isn't it... the car should be delivered pristine.

I am wondering about collecting mine also, it will depend how much they charge for delivery. Though I have been told that once I collect the car the mileage comes out of my allowance for the lease. (I don't get the distance to home taken off).
Pick it up your self mate mine got deliverd and it was thrashed by the little boy that dropped it off in cupra mode and 10miles of petrol left. Was not happy at all and seat don't give a **** they never reply to my complaint

Jesus..

Mine was dropped off with half a tank of fuel left, 99 miles on the clock and averaging 36mpg!

I cant fault the service I've received from Simon @ Seat Chesterfield. I opted to collect rather than have it delivered and Simon had stuck £45 of fuel in for me. Absolutely fantastic service.

Initial thoughts on the car are fantastic, I was concerned going from a fully loaded A45 - no need to be. Quality is really good and its a great drive, I've already put 100 miles on it ! The gear box is far better than the AMG as is throttle response ( which the A45's are reknowned for being shocking! ).

I'm really glad I made the switch ( plus I'm £200 a month better off! ).

How big is the difference in speed between the 2 cars?

Feeling wise, you wouldn't think there was much and I'm genuinely impressed having ordered the Cupra without having seen, drove or been in one. The delivery is so smooth and the throttle response and gearbox is incredible compared to the Merc. No wonder there is a booming trade in pedal boxes for the Merc's. I've just took my mate out and he said it felt just as fast as the A45 too.

On paper, there is a massive difference. Launching the A45 is an experience in itself. 0-60 was around 3.9 ( thats where the 4matic makes the big difference ). Also, the way in which it accelerates and keeps accelerating up to around 165 is totally different. There isn't much that will beat one of those off the mark in standard form but I really think this is going to be a far better car to own.

The Cupra is very, very similar to my Mk2 Focus RS ( just with a better gearbox ! ) - the way the power is delivered and the overall pace.

If any of that makes sense mate, I tend to ramble on ! LoL

Yeah, I got the Lux.

I really like them mate, finish is decent. I'm not sure why they chose to make only one electric though......
You got any pictures of the interior with Lux mate? I've ordered Lux and havent even seen the interior haha
