But buckets are cheaper than leather as an option so that's not the reason. Buckets cost around €500 less to spec as an option in Spain. So they cut costs all round while the customers perception is the value went up. Clever move.

If you think about it they have to use leather upholstered rear seats and the door panel parts in leather as well as leather upholstered front seats, one electric too, for the leather option. With buckets they just use two different seats up front and the rest of the car is the same so it also differs less from the standard Cupra when constructing the car.

I see what you’re saying. I would add that leather is a known rip-off option and is overpriced. Is it even leather?

Seems then, that they’ve revisited the margin aspirations of these vehicles and have stripped a little spec to save a few euros. A normal thing for any manufacturer to do. Just a bit annoying if it leaves me with a filthy screen in winter.

Yes it's leather but they've ditched Alcantara and use unbranded now. Not sure why they call it a Lux still when bucket seats and microsuede are more track orientated than lux items. They should have changed the name from Lux to something more sporty.

I think anyone with a build week of this week or next week should be okay, at least assuming that they're using the ship pegasus ace (as seems to be the case historically), which will probably arrive in Spain in a weeks time and leave a few days later, and about a week to get to the UK.
Does it stop in Portugal?

Changed the name after they changed what the Lux included? Before they started fiddling with it, the Lux was more like a Lux.

Would you rather have a Cupra Plus or Cupra Sport? :flag:

I believe it does stop in portugal, and they should have the Cupra as the standard model then the Cupra Cup Racing Edition as the "premium" model :1st:

Not necessarily, there will still be 100s of cars already waiting at the port ready to board onto the transport ships so no guarantees if its taken to port now it will be boarded, this was the case i had with my car anyway
I imagine they will try and get as many in before Brexit as possible though.

That's what I'm saying Lux loosely fit the previous model but now it doesn't make much sense. But I found nothing with SEAT and their specs make sense.

Anyone expecting a cupra to be delivered soon? My original date at dealers was 16th October but this has been pushed back till the 18th (no big deal) just wondering if anyone knows of any reason for further delays.

Not sure.

Interestingly, last week on Auto Trader there were 8 Cupra ST for sale (not Lux model). Now there are 24!! Looks like dealers have been buying in bulk especially Letchworth Seat!! They are advertising the cars are available now so beat the wait! Could this be the cause of the delays I wonder if other dealers are doing the same?

Ordered a Cupra Lux with the sunroof on the 26th September. Added the driving assistance pack on the 4th October. Got an email immediately saying the dealer has confirmed my order. Received an email yesterday with my SLI number and expected delivery of March but apparently Seat expect that to be pushed forward as they have a “new way of reporting”. Hopefully I’ll have it by Jan/Feb

The Autotrader dealers seem to be bumping the price up significantly from factory orders though. About £6k more expensive, even the 2nd hand nearly new cars are more expensive than a new factory order.

My thoughts - It spends almost a week in production and a few days in transit to the port. I would say it’s unlikely to make that vessel. Although I do hope I’m wrong.
