Really I thought it would be perfect, low revs and adding the miles on.

I thought your suppose to stay as low as possible and drive like grandma.

surely the motorway in 7th would achieve that ?
Yea you can’t win really but all advice by ‘specialists’ advise for the first few hundred miles you should be varying speed and not sitting at a constant speed on a motorway. Engineering Explained on YouTube explains this really well, link below. As per manual you should also drive like a grandma! :)

They aren't suggesting ragging it. Low revs but varied. Needs to change through gears and vary the throttle.
Keeping the engine running at same rpm isn't good for the engine at all.
That’s it mate... it is difficult to stick to this all the time but more you can in first 1k the better for car

It's super hard in this car as the car makes you want accelerate quick! In ECO mode it's easier as it changes gear really early but if you are heavy footed it will still rev to the limiter before changing gear.

Yea I can imagine. Even without the cars normal behaviours to buy a car like this and to try not to open it up to much for first 1k is almost torture. Bravo to anyone who manages it :)

Wh

what’s up with them,my fianance with them and been easy
I have been chasing for nearly two weeks now to get my finance documents. When Amy went off sick someone else took over and i had it sorted within a few hours... Only when the documents came through from the lender to "e-sign", their system failed and they said id have to sign the documents in person at their office.... in Belfast . They refused to accept a signature witnessed by a solicitor or licensed professional (plenty of them in my office). So i told them to pi$$ off :moon:.

I went and sorted finance through someone else now and will be agreeing all the paperwork today.

Will have to get the bloody thing first.....
Still waiting to see if next Thursday is real or.......
I've just had a call from FCD saying that the dealership, Arbury, can't do delivery until w/c 9th. Needless to say I am fuming.

I am waiting to see if there is anything they can do to bring it forward but I'm going to have to take a day off and get to Birmgingham by train or something. Nice 6 Hour journey that.

6 hours from Cambridge to Brum? And probably costs an arm & a leg!! At least you'll know you'll get it!!
I'd be happy to get to Southampton to pick mine up!!

Just spoken with Jess - she's going to chase dealer but they haven't got my car yet....
I'll be very surprised if they don't have to cancel my part-ex pickup until I get back off holiday on the 16th....
But - miracles sometime happen....

Car out of production and ready to ship 3 weeks ago and its still in Barcelona, must have some backlog on their shipping in that case!

Looks like th next ships are next weekend, so mid-March to the UK at the earliest. Then the delivery time this side too, all good fun! Fortunately I beleive Zen do the deliveries themselves rather than relying on dealers, so should expidite that stage a bit.

Train to cambridge, in to london, tube across london Kings Cross to Euston, Train to Birmingham and then Bus/train out to Solihull. Most of the jounrey time is spent waiting for trains or walking between stations.

There is a ticket for £30 though. Might see if forces cars will remiburse me for their f*** up.

Or £15 for a bus. They are open on sunday...

What a ball ache. I have finally reached a solution to have my car next week.

  1. My brother has very kindly offered to drive me from Cambridge to the the FCD offices in Lincoln on Saturday.
  2. "Steve" from FCD has also very kindly offered to come in this Saturday and process all my paperwork.
  3. Documents go to lender on Monday
  4. Assuming all goes well, lender pays dealer in Birmingham Monday/Tuesday.
  5. No delivery slots left for next week so I will get the bus to Birmginham (lovely 3.5 hour journey) on Tuesday
  6. Walk to the dealership to collect my car and drive it home
At last... the end is near

Much praise to Claire at FCD. She has been brilliant getting this all sorted for me and twisting the thumb screws on the lenders.

Have to say if I had some of these issues on top of my experience I would be fuming

I’ve asked twice for the fee to FCD to be refunded with no joy lol

I had a smooth and easy finance process and booking my delivery for 2nd which I think a few of us grabbed and so many March deliveries no wonder no delivery spots

That break in video is great,I would of thought in comfort under normal/light foot it shouldn’t go over 4000 revs ??

im driving to Manchester in April so hoping I can get some miles on it before because that is like 3-400 miles

What's everyone plans with the cupra? any mods?
I have K&n filter to go on

I also had black badge and 290 badge but not sure I want to put them on so I’m currently selling on eBay

I have some cupra graphics for the DSG surround which I have extra to sell on eBay and also a gel cupra badge for the steering wheel as for some reason cupra don’t have one ! I have extra of these also to sell if they look good

I decided against wind deflectors because they damage the car in the end taking them
Off and they cause extra wind noise

I don’t want to do much due to having to declare on insurance and they walk up prices
