Wing Mirror Damage

Folks, someone kindly opened their car door onto my wing mirror today and pulled the whole housing away from the door (see below) anyone with ideas how to get at the fixings. It looks as though it has just sprained the clamp that holds the mirror assembly to the door skin as everything else works like the electric movement and the folding away etc.

I could do with posting a picture of it but cant as I havent yet made 15 forum posts

Something similar has happened to my friends leon, if it can't be gently pushed back in you will need to take off the door card to gain access to the fixture.
