Wiper Issue

Before I take it into a dealer, wanted to see whether there is a simple solution for a problem with the front wipers with an LCR. In the off position, the wipers either go on constantly or turn on intermitantly - this varies each time I turn the car on. Therefore, I can never turn the wipers off! Also, when I give it some gas this can cause the wipers to start when they should be turned off.

Does anyone have any idea to what is wrong?

further developments - this issue only seems to be applicable when it is wet. On hot days there are no problems so indicates that water is getting into the electrics somehow to influence the circuits.

Where would I look to check whether water is getting into the system?

hmmm, that makes me think its something to do with rain sensors but to the best of my knowledge no lcr has them
