Wipers with mind of their own

Not happy - driving up on the M1 last Saturday my intermittent wipers went and would only work on full.
Stopped for a coffee at Toddington Services and when I restarted the car the wipers wouldn't stop working whatever I did.
After a very long wait for the AA via SEAT roadside assistance (and paying an overstay £12 fee as I knew I would be over the permitted 2 hour stay), the AA guy found the fault and it seems a wire had broken as it had been attached incorrectly when the car was built.
Anyone had wiper problems on their Ibiza?

Hi there. It sounds a bit different but I also feel maybe linked related?
I realise now I never mentioned it in the original posting, but at the beginning of the problems, mine also stopped in position at the stage I turned them off. That was before they completely got a mind of their own. I would get it seen to before it gets worse!
