probable world 1st-1.8t ford Pop, rear wheel drive..

tonys project, for those who dont know, part of the badger5 crew

1.8t powered, rear wheel drive, cossy gbox ford pop drag car in the making.
one off transmission assembly... T5 cossy box mounted to 1.8t motor :)

    enjoy :D

take one 1.8t motor, custom bellhousing and custom billet adaptor plate
    [IMG]

bolt it all together during mock up
    [IMG]

    swing it into the Pop
    [IMG]

    and in old skool imagery
    [IMG]

you have the beginnings of a 1.8t powered ford pop, which should be in the 450-500bhp region without the weight of a heavy V8

9" rear axle, spool for a diff.. DTA managed monstor is coming along steadily

You and Tony have been watching too much "pimp my ride" :D.
Looks a great project, how do you think it will compare to the ibiza power to wieght ratio.
I think its time to get the MTV guys to film at the Badger 5 work shop.

Bill - how / where did you obtain the bellhousing & plate?

I've found a few in my 'investigations' but would be interested if it's something you've had made up yourself?

bell housing is off a belgian kit car which uses a 1.8t

the one pictured is a type9 box, we are using a T5 Cossy box for which we had a bespoke adaptor plate made. T9 box is not going to live with a big turbo'd 1.8t

if those hubs are on the right way round then a RHD mini steering rack will make it LHD in car if it helps :) but i believe the metro rack is wider if needed but not got one here to measure and check layout sorry

can't wait to see it hauling ass up the 1320 :):)

less power than bills ibiza and more weight but being rear wheel drive on slicks and spool it should hook up and launch well[B)]
