Tools needed
  • Heatgun / Hairdryer
  • Scissors / Scalpel / Stanley Knife
  • Cloth (clean the grill surround up nice and dry it thourough)
  • Extremely clean surface!
  • Patience

Wrapping is rather easy and quite addictive, I'm not your typical patient person but I managed this.

  • I simply cleaned up the area I was working as well as the grill surround, cut the wrap to size with quite a bit excess around it.
  • Peeled the backing off and with the wrap still flat I lay it over the surround
  • Start from the bottom centre of the surround and I worked anti clockwise, just heating up the wrap to get rid of any bubbles, by seperating the wrap from surround with my fingers and heating that part of the wrap and then pulling it gently as I lain it down.
  • Repeat this all the way round and you're golden.
  • Just fold the wrap right round the back and then heat the entire lot to seal the adhesive

I followed tutorials on YouTube which helped out. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLsmPbPyE00)

If anyone is wanting this done I will easily do it Free of Charge provided you pay postage both ways for the grill and buy your own vinyl

Looks really nice mate, how much of a pain was it to separate the grill from the surround?

It was a pain because I didn't know how tolerable the clips were but what I done was grabbed 2 pairs of scissors and worked at 1 clip with the scissors open a tad so the clip was in between the open blades so I could lever off the clip.

The other paid of scissors was used to put in the newly separated sections so they wouldn't clip back on.

I know what you mean about the clips, I have had plenty snap on me on previous cars. Thanks for the tips, may give it a go once the weather improves a bit.

Will maybe do more guides in the future once I have more material, check out my build on Enthst.com

Any links to the wrap you used? looks like the matt / satin type I'd like!

Hey its Matte Black and I got it from my local signwriter. I had thought on Gloss and Satin but Matt gave the front of the cat a nicer, meaner look that I am aiming for
