Mine (JCT600 - Leeds) have been ****ING USELESS since I bought my LCR. Problem after problem. SEAT UK are getting a letter from me this week I am so pissed off.

Just absolute simpletons, my LCR has been back 5 times in the month since I bought it. All work done under extended warranty but if I was underwriting their warranties I'd be asking serious questions about their workmanship. Most of the problems have been due to their own stupidity.

5th went 35 miles out my way to one in droitwich they had in for 2 days to do a service & pads on the front! when i collected it the windows didnt work! book it back in they fix it & my engine light comes on!

eventually get it fixed & im well pi55ed with that place

6th get it done in stoke, back bumper scratched, that wasnt there the day before as i washed it & it hasnt been reversed by me & unless the wall in my garden fell down & rebuilt its self then only they could do it!

they played the innocent card

7th i went from birmingham to derby as i thought aslong as its done properly i dont mind, they tell me i need a new clutch & its going to cost over £400

ignored what they said about the clutch

8th went back to the one in wolverhampton begrudgingly(sp) OMG! they where great ! they did the work & changed the clutch & done under warrenty (80k miles)

just in for its 9th i was there first thing handed the keys over & the lady says *oh this should be back at lunch* great i thought telling her i knew the pads needed replacing so go ahead & do it today & not to worry about ringing for permission the engine lights on & the key fob needs a battery!

just had a call at 3pm *is it ok to do the pads* err yeah sure ... what time will that be ready? as i was hoping to get back for the footy, err yeah sure but you will have to book it back in for the engine light as they will have to plug it in & road test it ????????????

i just said* you might aswell keep it it till tomorrow if you havnt finished * they have no curtosey car so i have to borrow a car to get home!!!!

i have really lost faith in all seat dealerships , its like they just really dont care!!

i love my car but it will getting changed next march & i will never buy another seat due to the servicing problems....

you may think i have been an akward customer but all i have done each time is gone in smiled dropped of my keys & awaited there call....

it reminds me off mcdonalds drive through, how can they **** up somthing they do every day ????????

rant over !!!!

sorry.. everyone having a nice day?

Barlows the dirty scum bags!!!
I had a problem with the wing mirrors on my leon, they had stuck in the parking position. Took it to Barlows where they had it all day, i went to collect it and was greeted with i'm sorry sir but we can't find the fault with your mirrors. I thought fair enough so you can't do it can i have my keys back, the reply was yes sir but you owe us £75 for looking at the car for you. Even though they didn't have a frickin clue what was wrong!!!!
The main foreman told me later that they do not have a single electrical mechanic working there so it would cost me an extra £150 if i booked it in again.
Took it round to my mates house, he identified the problem and fixed it all in one hour. the control box under the dash was the problem.
They also tried telling me that a buzzing noise from the dash was a heater motor problem and if i wanted them to look at it it would cost me £65, i sorted that myself to, there's a black rubber hose that connects to a small electric motor. This sucks air over the thermal couple for the climate control systems.
Also keep clear of all electric garages, nothing but a bunch of cowboys!

Dealerships!!
They just a bunch of fitters, they can take a part off and place a new one on but that's it!! They don't have a clue about the mechanics of a car.

Too right!! Boycot the dealers!! Lets start a revolution!!

I agree, but I don't think it is just Seat, BMW and Mercedes now charge over £100 per hour for labour. Are you getting some one with a PHD working on your car?! Have to say I am now using VW/Audi specialist, last service for £99, Seat £180. Also, Coil packs go on these cars, common fault, do they keep them on shelf? No, VOR for 48 hours. Tried to order some nuts and bolts off the dealer recently, the ones that are supposed to be changed when you replace the suspension components. Cost £8.50. The dealer would not do it on trust, would not take a card over the phone, they wanted me to drive to them, pay and then they would order them in for me to collect another day. At this point I decided they could "go forth and multiply" and would not be seeing my car again. Oh yes and on first visit they tried to hand it back with a bent drivers door skin. Of course they denied it and when I threatened legal action they said it must have been hit by a customer. Well the customer must have opened the door and reversed it into a car ramp then, as the damage could only have been done by some one reversing with a door open, any one ever seen a Technician doing that, hmmmm! They did repair it in the end though, just to keep me happy apparently!

The problem in Norfolk is the one and only SEAT dealer also happens to be the local independent VW specialist. No savings to be made there.:D

These dealers really boil my blood.
When i took my car back to All Electric in Halesowen (scummy chuffin cow boys)
i was waiting at the desk to be served when i heard a guy in the back room saying well no she didn't give me authorisation to order the part but i thought it needed doing so i ordered it. The other guy in there said oh just tell her it was needed and put it on the bill, she probably wont notice anyway she's a dippy cow. They're need a good hiding!!!!
I actually know a guy who works in a dealership, now he couldn't tell me what a four stroke engine was. That's the caliber of these guys

Crap

I completly agree with Chewbacca I got my Leon serviced for the first time at the crappy Colliers in Birmingham, I had to wait 1 whole month to get a courtesey car as they only had one in the whole place how crap is that.

The customer service I recieved was rubbish, they did a crap job on the car as I have now a engine idle problem, i'll have to try and fix that somewhere else as Seat Colliers might screw it up more. They forgot to wash the car when i went to pick it up so i had sit there another 20 minutes waiting.

Does anyone know a good independent dealer where i can get my car serviced or faults fixed.

Dont ever get your car serviced at a Seat dealer.

Just a pitty Seat don't listen to these complaints.
Every time I've complained about a dealership I've been told it's my word against theirs, thought the customer was always right? Well with these dealerships we usually are.
I know of a couple of VW private garages in the west midlands, one in Cradley Heath. I'll try and get the details.
It does look like Seat might have got fed up with the complaints about All Electric in Halesowen, Seat have pulled away from there.

Use an independant locally since warranty ran out - £25 / hour labour so much cheaper

Markmck

£25 ph sounds an absolute bargain. My ex-Audi chap working from a lock-up, albeit a very tidy one is charging £40 plus Vat ph and still works out cheaper than the Main Dealer. The thing I like is that he uses genuine parts but passes on a discount on them. However, just had cam belt, together with tensioner, tensioner damper and waterpump done (I insisted on supplying aftermarket pump with brass impeller so thanks to the Forum for that tip, VAG are still supplying plastic ones, whereas most aftermarket parts seem to have upgraded!) All that cost £368 all in, I think the dealer was at £400 + the damper which is about £65.

I don't seem to have much luck though as Audi who supply his parts sent the wrong tensioner to him twice, poor bloke was finishing my car at 8:00pm. How many main dealers would have stayed late?!

On the subject of clutch your guy sounds very cheap, but other wise would recommend using a gearbox specialist, as they do nothing but whip gearboxes in and out and replace clutches they tend to be cheaper.

Also would recommend GSF (German Swedish and French) for parts, just got new standard Brembo disks and Pagid FR Pads for project brake upgrade. The lot cost just over £200. But, that's for another thread.

I used Colliers in Birmingham and got a bit of cr@p from the 'service dept' so I asked if I could use their phone, they said I could so I asked if they could confirm the number for Seat UK was 0500222222 and all of a sudden the work they 'couldn't do' (Bearing in mind I explained the car was not drivable without it, no courtesey car was available and I live south of Bristol so couldn't pop back) got done.......
