Seat are responsible for the order until it arrives at the dealership, not the dealer. I'm not sure why your dealer is suggesting Seat will provide you with conflicting information. Talking from personal experience, I was able to extract a lot more useful information from Seat than my dealer. It's up to you but you are within your rights to request the order number.

Maybe the dealer is taking the view that my contract is with them and not SEAT and they don't like being undermined. I'll see if the dealer does come back to me tomorrow with a SEAT order number. Also had a dialogue with the dealer over the style & method of fixing for the numberplates, but that's another story.

Mystic blue is nice too. I was deciding between eclipse orange and desire red before ultimately going with the latter.
I'm going to be patient and wait until collection day before I see it in person, but I did ask Laura last night for a couple of pictures. I'll upload them on this board once received.
Did you manage to get any pictures of your car from Laura?

Hey everyone! I just picked up my car yesterday. Sorry for the messy pics.

Although there's no trim called Xcellence Lux here, the kit I cherry-picked pretty much compares.

My dealer was still not being very communicative so with March fast approaching curiosity got the better of me and I made contact with the dealer this afternoon. He confirmed they have my car and I was really surprised to learn they have 65 orders ready for March! That may account for the lack of communication and also the staff shortages & sickness he mentioned. To have 65 orders ready for March sounds awsome to me and the sales manager must be very happy indeed. I'm told the dealer is going to look through further files tomorrow to look at organising handovers etc.

Have you picked up your car yet? If you have I hope you’re enjoying it. Any chance of posting some pictures?
Yup picked up on Friday, comfy and quiet, little less power than i am used to but overall very nice. One strange issue, if anyone can help, the car will only lock via the sensor with one of the keys, both will unlock and start the car, and the key that doesnt allow locking does so by pressing the button but not by the door handle sensor?

Couple of pics though weather is a bit naff.

To add, if the trip computer is anything like accurate then mpg is pretty good for a new engine, averaged just under 50 mpg driving through town and a jaunt to the Dales and back also in traffic. (Doesnt matter what time i travel into the dales i allways get behind pillocks that do over 60 on the straight bits and 30 round anything approaching a bend :censored:).

Steering is a bit lighter than i would like can it be altered in a menu anywhere or can the stealer add weight to it through OBD port? Handling seems well planted but a clearer run is required:drive1:

Have you tried the drive modes and put it into sport as it will add weight to the steering?

Cheers i havent played with all the menus yet but if stearing weight can be altered in the settings then that will be great.

I’ve seen 2 Xcellence Lux now including a Mystery Blue on a 19 plate beside me which looks banging, both have the FR rear with exhaust trim now either this is now standard or a very popular upgrade.

I'm collecting my car on Wednesday next week. I live in Shropshire so it will be a cross country journey to the dealers in Lincoln. I'll stay the night in Lincoln then I'll be heading up to North Yorkshire for a few days. It will be a good chance to really get to know the car.

I had an issue with the dealers. I want stick on number plates as I think they look much better and no holes are drilled in the car. First of all the dealers said they're not legal, but they're are. Then they said "This is not usually something that we do or have ever done", but then they relented and said they would fit them for me.

That’ll be a good drive round for you then! I haven’t noticed if my numberplates are drilled or stuck on. Hopefully, as you’re wanting.. they’ll have been stuck on, although I aren’t too fussed.

At least you'll presumably never have to deal with them again once the car's handed over. Being my local franchise, I took a 3 month old SEAT in there to get 3 faults rectified under guarantee, and they managed to fix precisely none of them. Useless.

You're probably right, but they do also have a Skoda dealership and I am looking to change my 3 year old Skoda Superb estate for a facelifted model when it comes out later this year. Being an existing customer might be a bargaining chip.

Sorry to hear you've had problems with a new SEAT. In my experience modern cars are far better built and are more reliable than those of the past. Only this week I came across a list of faults with a new FIAT I had, which was representative of the series of new FIATs I bought 20 years ago & backwards now.
