Xenon headlight issue

Hi guys,

It's been a long while since I needed help but I have an issue I'm unsure about.

My drivers side dipped light has decided to stop working.

I've checked the bulbs by swapping them over and checked the fuses. I've also disconnected the battery to see if it resets it but still nothing.

Could it be my ballast is done? I did have dampness in the headlight but I've dried it out.

Any ideas how to either check the ballast or have I missed anything to try?

Swap the ballast with the other side. It'll prove the ballast is faulty.

So I decided to go out and actually plug in VCDS to see what was going on.

It came back with this -

So....

I took the ballast out today, when I removed it there was a lovely black mark on the circuit board. I decided to change the ballast over from the good side. Switched the ignition on and I heard a big crackle! Took it out and yup you guessed it its blown that one too!

So I took the headlight out, surprised how easy it was to get the bumper off! The cable from the ballast to the headlamp is burnt out.

I'm trying to source ballasts and the metal sheathed cable now. Fingers crossed that when I put the new ones in it doesn't blow them too!

Nope no headlights at all now! Luckily I'm off this week or I would up a creek without an ore!
