Xl? What The!?

Ok, I've seen the pics and read the blurb but I really do not understand the point of the Altea XL. I always thought the Toledo was an Altea with a bigger boot? The Altea XL only makes sense if...

1. The Toledo was discontinued immediately or
2. The Altea XL had 7 seats as neither the current Altea or Toledo do.

Can you imagine the average punter going into a SEAT dealer looking for a 5 seater with a big boot. Can we interest you sir, in an Altea or an Altea L (Toledo) or an Altea XL?

SEAT, I think your staff have been spending a little too much time in the Spanish sun...

I cant agree more. what is the point. i really thought this was a 7 seat variant , similar to the grand scenic.

When I started to take a thread down this route the mods closed it off !!! [not clear in my mind the relationship between Seat sponsorship and this web site]. My comment about whether Seat will have the space in their showrooms to put all these variants. Seat must be going to scrap the Toledo but taking a pragmatic view of how well the XL sells against the Toledo. There was something wrong about the back of the Toledo and the pictures of the XL look fine in that respect. Oh well we'll all be buying are sliding rails to give us more space in the back of the Altea using the Golf Plus ones, I may just do it since I could use the space from time to time.
