So I guess it's time to post some about my ride.
What it looked like little over a year ago.

Then I have done a few things to it.
Lowering, tune, exhaust, wheels, sway bar, lip and some other stuff. But more about that tomorrow.

It was still freezing when I got it, so had to get some winter wheels. Tracked down some 17's from a TT.
Tight fit.

Looked rather boring at stock height so time for lowering. Having the e-dampers I ended up with just springs from H&R.

Next up was a tune and intake. Went with a company I've used before and that are big here in Sweden. Also got a barely used vwr600 intake from a Golf R. Car has around 330-340hp and I really don't need more at the moment, pretty fast for track and twisty roads.
Also started working on the exhaust, as the stock is/was way too silent.
Custom all the way with full flowing boxes at same places as stock, just smaller and better flow.
Way louder and shaved off some weight!
At one point only had the two small boxes at the end, but that was just horribly loud lol.

When summer came last year, i felt stock 19" wheels was way too heavy and stock bridgestones didn't give me much confidence. Put them in the cellar and brought out my old "arista" 18" I've used on my previous Golf mkv.
18x8 et45 with conti5 225/40, much better.

Also had some decals mounted and put some lamin-x on headlights.

White rims on white car are looking pretty awesome for my opinion.

Yes but mine's not white but dynamic grey and I've had white wheels before. Thought they where too much a pain to keep clean.

Had to do some touching ups on the 18's so decided to run the stock 19's for a while. Hate them and the tires lol
But it does look good I admit that...
Other than that, I decided to change rear sway bar.
Went with H&R 26mm.
Everything went pretty smooth, until time to remove the end links and put them on the new bar.
Managed to break one so ordered new ones and hopefully get it done later this week.

Been driving without rear bar for a week now. It's really not that bad, feels like it's on soft rear springs and yeah, more understeer.

Update on the rear sway bar.
Mounted and taken for a spin, so much better.
Should have done it first thing. Was a little worried 26mm was too much of a bar for this car. But no worries, car feels just like I want to now.

No problem, we have horrible roads and loads of speed bumps around here. So far so good.

Last pictures with stock wheels as I've changed back to 18"s again. I just hated how the car felt with those heavy boat anchors of wheels.

18 inch rims are good for daily driving too.And they look good too on the car. I had original 18 M rims on BMW E90 with run flat tyres and M suspension, car is like on rail when driving on roads and it had comfort too for this setup.Only problem was country roads, cause of run flat tyres. With normal tyres car was 30 % more soft.

Looks great! Have you had the front lights tinted? Love the way they look

Thanks, they are some sort of lamin-x ripoff. I like it but might still have been a little too dark.

Definitely with you on the 18' wheels, they look really well and the car handles so much better imo. Nice car mate.

Thanks, yeah it's almost unbelievable how much better it feels just going down to 18". Should snap some pics but it keeps raining all the time lol
I've started looking for some light weight wheels. OZ ultra or alleggerita or maybe Team Dynamics 1.2 in 18".
And then to choose a colour...

both the OZ and TD 1.2s are good wheels. pretty cheap too and around to replace in worst case

I put some OZ Alleggeritias on the 996.2 GT3...saved 27KGs around the car just on wheels. the OEM wheels are heavy, expensive to replace and getting rare. packed away in storage now.

I have no idea why seat went to 19s. purely for looks as tonnes of brake clearance.

yours must feel much nimbler and better on turn in etc.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. I had some summer tires on Audi TT 17"(seen in early post above) shortly before making them my winter wheels. That was even better, but brake clearance is seriously close. Had to move around wheel weights until it fit the fronts.
Would have to test fit any 17" I'd want before buying.
