Id be definitely looking at the Cupra's just for the fact the interior is much nicer.. I have spent so much money on getting as much of the Cupra interior as I can where I wished I'd just brought a Cupra ;)
Good luck on the car hunting :D

That was part of my thinking, plus a better turbo and intercooled already.

Iv seen one on a 54 plate, full history, full year tax and mot, all belts done etc and already "stage1" mapped. Only after 3500 but im back in work tomorrow so hopefully he will keep it until thursday.

I was out working on the car last weekend when checking the boost run I found my turbo outlet to FMIC pipe had done this..

As you can see, the pipe is literally on its last legs. So a trip down to SFS to go and get some new silicone hose. I have had a piece of Ali pipe in my garage for quite a few months now to do this modification but haven't had the time or money to do it. This crack has forced me to get it sorted. I had a call from SFS during the week and went to pick the new silicone hose and new turbo outlet adapter.

the hose 'test fitted' to the Ali pipe..

So yesterday morning I went out and made a start. First off was to get the old one off, I put them side by side for a comparison of the SFS turbo outlet adapter to the standard 'Flow Damper' end..

As you can see, there is quite a difference in the size of the outlet from the turbo.
after I'd taken the pics I started getting the pipework in the right position for fitting to the car..

Clearance was definitely going to be an issue, and after chopping a bit off the new silicone it fitted snugly between the sump and chassis leg..

now nice and tight around the sump and chassis here how it looks when the car is on the ground.

Another massive thanks goes to Rick who made the Ali pipe up for me..
on testing the car with the new outlet, the car pulls quite a bit harder and keeps going past the 4k rpm where it used to start tailing off a bit before.

You should notice a nice increase in performance from that. I certainly noticed it when I did mine.

Had another busy weekend working on the car. This time some new brakes. The cars brakes were upgraded to the Golf GTi 312mm fronts quite some years ago now and were painted in red. The car was in desperate need of disks and pads all round so I started looking around for Porsche upgrades. I managed to stumble upon a full set of Leon Cupra R calipers, carriers, disks, pads and brake lines so went for them instead. They then went away to be stripped, refurbished and sprayed in Yellow to match the 'Black and Yellow' theme the car currently has going on.
Here are some of the pictures from the build..

How they looked when I first brought them

Results speak for themselves really.. after re-bleeding them a few times to get all the air out of them, the feeling through the pedal is so much better than the old single pot 312mm's, only thing I have found is that the new fluid takes slightly longer to warm up.

Cheers guys.
The brakes were quite expensive. Luckily though I managed to get them with brake lines, carriers and a decent set of disks and pads to go with them.
What wheels have you got? Clearance was quite tight with the standard Cupra alloys (luckily I run 10mm spacers on the front)
